Transforming Duck Meat with This Type of Water Will Make Every Dish Super Delicious and Odorless

Duck meat is a favorite dish of many people. It is also a type of food that can be processed into many different dishes, from duck soup, ginger braised duck, duck cooked with sour soup, to super delicious duck bamboo shoot vermicelli. Some people even prefer duck meat over chicken because they believe that duck meat is sweeter, more tender, and more flavorful.

Although duck meat can be made into many delicious dishes, it is still somewhat “inferior” due to the distinctive smell of duck meat. The reason is that the duck’s oil gland is more developed than that of chicken. Additionally, because ducks swim in water regularly, duck meat can also have unpleasant odors. Therefore, if you don’t know how, your dish can easily be overwhelmed by the smell of duck meat and lose its taste.

Actually, if you know how, you can still eliminate the smell of duck meat. You just need to let the duck “bathe” in white wine. It’s simple, after cleaning the duck’s feathers, rub it with white wine, and the smell of duck meat will be completely removed. Alternatively, if you don’t have white wine at home, you can crush a fresh ginger, mix it with vinegar, and rub that mixture onto the duck meat. This method is also very effective in eliminating the smell of duck meat.

But what if you don’t have ginger? Then just use lemon. Squeeze the juice of about 2 lemons and rub lemon juice on the duck meat after cleaning the feathers. Alternatively, simply mix vinegar with salt and use a clean cloth to soak in the vinegar-salt solution, then apply it evenly all over the duck.

You should also note that the smell of duck meat mostly comes from the intestines, so it’s best to remove the intestines before processing, and also add crushed ginger to the boiling water when cooking duck meat to completely eliminate the smell.

Furthermore, young ducks tend to have a stronger odor than older ducks, so if possible, choose mature ducks to reduce the smell.
